Welcome to MacEwan BlogCamp. Bloggers in this nine hour contest will be blogging on a variety of different topics and we’ll roll them out at predetermined times.
First things first: do you have a bio and a picture up on our bio page? Make sure we have that. It’s your chance to promote yourself!
Blogging tip: Make sure once you start your post to save often. That also makes it so that people can get an idea what your post is all about.
Blogging topics
12:30 – Topic 1 - Describe how you decided which post-secondary institution to attend and what program to take.
1:30 – Topic 2 - Is ‘business ethics’ an oxymoron? Do business ethics need to improve? If so, how?
2:30 – Topic 3 - Should Tasers be banned or not?
3:30 – Topic 4 - Will Alberta better weather the current economic crisis than other regions?
4:30 – Topic 5 - What do you think the next episode of Mike & Lenny should be?
5:30 – Topic 6 - Write on whatever topic you would like: funny, serious, whatever! (tag it with “open topic”)
6:30 – Topic 7 - What have you learned about business? Why is business important?
7:30 – Topic 8 - What role should any level of government take in social media? (federal, provincial ,city, crown corporations, educational institutions, etc)
8:30 – Topic 9 - Describe your BlogCamp experience, what you’ve learned, observations, etc.
Rules
- Content
- In your blogs you can use text, audio, video or photos that you create. If you use other sources, please reference them with a link.
- Text from other sites must be block quoted and referenced. Limit single quotes to 75 words.
- Audio, video or photos from other sites must be referenced
- Please avoid use of profanity.
- No use of sexual imagery.
- Bloggers will be able to go back and add to, or modify, previous posts.
- Judging
- Comments will be open on all blog posts
- Readers will be able to vote on your post by giving it a thumbs up or thumbs down
- Final judging of the top five entries will be by our expert panel.
- Based on the highest difference between thumbs up and down.
- Entries must be original work, produced during the 9 hour period and final entries are subject to a plagiarism check.
- Must have written it yourself (no plagiarized content), during the 9 hour contest - nothing can be pre-written
- One hour per topic, except for the final topic.
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded, no substitutions.
- Entrance to contest - open to Grant MacEwan College students only
- Entries are not owned by GMCC School of Business but reserves the right to use the content in perpetuity.
