FOX News Bashed Canadians.. What?

I would like to take the opportunity to bash FOX.

Fox News bashes Canadian Military!
This frustrated me, as well as the rest of you I’m sure.
Our Defense Minister Peter McKay had these things to say:
And something a little cooler to watch: Canadian soldiers doing yoga in their white capri pants (however you spell capri)
Pistol Pete was in Afghanistan in 2006 so he knows.
I can tell you that this was infuriating. I was there and me and my friends definitely did not do yoga. What a punk. Stand up for your soldiers.

I saw the clip from Fox and thought it was is poor taste but it was particularly upsetting because of the timing. The show aired the day before 4 Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan. That being said, comedy is comedy and while I found it in bad taste, I have certainly laughed at jokes about the American military.

So I know this has gotten everyone up in arms regarding the unfortunate comments made. But I think we need to reflect on the way we act before passing judgment. You can’t honestly tell me that we as Canadians do not dole out a massive amount of anti-American media. It’s everywhere, not just on our 3am TV talk shows - case in point, look at “Talking to Americans”. Sure they poke fun at our military (and it is very unfortunate that it happened when it did - God bless the families of the soldiers killed in that terrible explosion) but we poke fun at their general intelligence and tons of other comedic points. Alley-O is right when she says comedy is comedy. Just my two cents.

That is terrible. I wish he did come to West Ed Comedy Strip. I would beat him.
